Fern M. V. (Kramer) Jackson
September 17, 1928 - August 10, 2009
Fern Margaret Virginia (Kramer) Jackson, 80, formerly of Kanawha, passed away early Monday, August 10, 2009 at her home in Richland Center, Wisconsin after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Graveside services for Fern Jackson will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha with Pastor Steve Schulz officiating.
Family and friends are invited to Jody and Gene’s home, 1325 110th Street, in rural Kanawha for fellowship following the graveside service.
Fern, the daughter of John and Margaret (Kneip) Kramer, was born September 17, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended school in Chicago and graduated from Coonlee High.
Fern was united in marriage to Alvin Jackson in 1947 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The couple made homes in Chicago, Wisconsin and Iowa. After Alvin passed away, Fern moved back to Richland Center, Wisconsin in 2001.
Fern was an active member of her church and was a member of St. Johns Lutheran in Richland Center, Wisconsin. She was a hard working lady who enjoyed her time with friends at the UW Cafeteria and also donated her time at the local food bank, where she had a large circle of friends who provided her with much emotional support throughout her illness.
Fern is survived by four children: Glenn Jackson of Richland Center, Wisconsin, Sharon Henson of Montfort, Wisconsin, estranged son Jay Jackson of Kanawha, Iowa and daughter Jodi (Gene) Eliason of Kanawha, Iowa. She leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jessica, Chris, Jacob, Sylvia, Ryan, Joseph, Justin; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers Wayne Kramer and Marvin Kramer and one sister Kay Almaraz of San Jose, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Al, one sister Carol, one brother Gilbert, and three grandchildren.
