Esther C. (Olson) Lorenz McGonigle

April 30, 1921 - October 29, 2010

Esther Lorenz McGonigle, 89, of Clarion passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Careage of Clarion.

Funeral services for Esther McGonigle will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Clarion with Reverend Doctor Ronald Yarnell officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Esther Carolyn was born April 30, 1921, the daughter of Albert and Ellen (Soma) Olson at Eagle Grove, Iowa. Esther was raised and educated in Clarion, Iowa. She was a cosmetologist in California, and later, Administer of Bell Flower Golden Age Convalescent Home in Bell Flower, California. Esther returned to Clarion in 1978.

Esther was united in marriage to Stan Mellier in 1952 at Portuguese Bend, California. She was united in marriage to Orville L. Lorenz in 1973 at Las Vegas, Nevada. She was united in marriage to Dick McGonigle in 1995 at Fort Myers, Florida.

Esther is survived by her step-son Pat Mellier of California, and his children Monica, Matt, and Mark; her sisters-in-law: Iren Olson of Richfield, Minnesota, Audrey Olson of Clarion; her nieces and nephews: Paul Olson of Woolstock, Steve Olson of Edina, Minnesota, Janet (Olson) Severson and her husband Roger of Hubbard, Iowa, Jannel (Olson) Stark and her husband Russ of Clarion, JoAnne (Olson) Waura and her husband Tom of Richfield, Minnesota.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her brothers Ernie and Clarence, her husbands Stan Mellier, Orville Lorenz, and Dick McGonigle, and nephew Phillip Olson.
