Obituary


Anna Margaret Huisinga, age 77, of Clarion died on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, February 16, 2004, at the First Lutheran Church in Clarion with Pastor Gary Boen officiating. Burial will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to  7:00 PM on Sunday,  February 15, 2004 at the Ewing Dugger Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Anna Margaret (Schutt) Huisinga was born July 31, 1926 to Henry and Mabel (Heiden) Schutt in Wright County south of Clarion.

Anna attended and graduated from rural school Williams #4 and went to Williams High School for the first two years. Anna graduated from Clarion High School in 1944 first in her class. Anna attended Wartburg College in Waverly and Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls. She later received her Master’s Degree from Drake in Des Moines.

She taught country school in Hardin and Hamilton counties for several years and first grade in Hilltop in Webster City for three years. Anna taught first grade and Learning Disabilities in Clarion for many years. Anna will be remembered for her love of children, for her teaching and the special ability she had to teach children how to read. When Anna retired from teaching in 1989 she occasionally did private tutoring.

On June 30, 1954 Anna was united in marriage to Henry Huisinga of Kamrar. To this union one son, Henry Jacob, was born.

Anna enjoyed very much her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kelly, and Sam. Her hobby was baking for them and for the Farmer’s Market in several towns.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Henry of Clarion; son Henry J., his wife Nancy and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kelly and Sam all of Clarion. She is also survived by two brothers, Fred and his wife Mary, Tom and his wife Pam all of Williams; two sisters, Marilyn Ubben of Williams, Sharon Brandt and her husband Ronald of Ackley; one Uncle, Herbert Heiden his and wife Vivian of Williams; two aunts, Goldie Nachazel of Kansas City, Kansas and Doris Heiden of Alden; several cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends and loving students.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Hank and Mabel Schutt; two brothers, John Schutt of Blairsburg and William Schutt of Alden; two nephews, Jonathan Schutt of Alden and Gregory Schutt of Lohrville in infancy.
