Brian K. Norris

Brian K. Norris, 53 of Dows passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Funeral services for Brian Norris will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Dows United Methodist Church, 100 Northrup Street in Dows with Pastor Shawn Hill officiating.  Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Dows.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 100 North Lee Street in Dows and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Brian Keith, son of Jerry and Janice (Dockwell) Norris, was born on July 23, 1964 in Clarion. He was raised on the farm near Dows. Brian graduated from Dows High School in 1982. After graduating high school, he attended Hawkeye Tech. Brian worked at the farmers elevator in various departments for many years.

In 1985, Brian was united in marriage to Lori Patterson. The couple was blessed with two children, Samantha and Lucas.

Brian enjoyed helping his kids practice in the rodeo arena and also traveling to the rodeos on the weekend. He loved hunting, fishing, trapping, and any activities outdoors with his family.

Brian is survived by his children Samantha (Cody) Sherwood; Lucas (Brittany) Norris; parents Jerry and Janice Norris; sister Brenda (Kirk) Brown; niece and nephew Taylor and Blake.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
