Carter Matthew Trunkhill was born on April 1, 2006 to Matthew and Monica (Olsen) Trunkhill. He was raised on a farm in rural Woden with his brothers Jacob and Adam.

Carter had a great love for animals, the outdoors, camping with family and friends, and fishing with a packet of sunflower seeds in the tackle box. He enjoyed sledding down the hill in Crystal Lake and riding snowmobile with his family. He loved to pick up the pears that fell out of the tree in the back yard and enjoyed hitting them with a bat when pitched to him by his dad and brothers. Then they would switch off and see who could hit the most. He could play outside for hours in the back yard and would get very competitive with his family when throwing horse shoes at night. He loved to make his own little fire and use the Boy Scout “coffee can” to cook on, and then relax by a fire at night with family. He enjoyed running, wrestling, playing baseball and football; watching and defending his NFL team, the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed playing games on his phone and video games was one of his favorite past times, especially when he beat his brothers at Call of Duty Ghosts.

Carter loved to play tricks on his parents, especially his mom. He had a few little rubber mice that he would constantly hide in random spots throughout the house, waiting patiently, sometimes for days, to hear his mom scream. Then he would just smile at you with that little smirk on his face!

Carter was known as ‘Lil ‘Lil Trunk by some, and will be remembered as a great friend by others. He enjoyed going to church and spending time with his prayer partner, Vicky. He looked forward to going to school every day so he could spend time with his friends, and get new books that he could read; he always had some fun facts to share.

We will always remember Carter’s enlightened personality and quick wit. He always had a smile on his face making you smile in return. He had such a compassion and love for others, always there to help, or a kind word with that unique voice that just stuck with you. He had a strong work ethic and knew the importance of finishing the job. He left a lasting impression on all that he came in contact with.

Carter is survived by his parents Matt and Monica Trunkhill, brothers Jacob and Adam Trunkhill; grandparents, Terry and Kathy Olsen, and Lana Trunkhill; great-grandparents, Richard and Darlene Thompson; God-parents, David and Mary Trunkhill; and many other family members and friends.

Carter is preceded in death by his grandpa Richard Trunkhill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
