Obituary


Clarence "Buster" Anderson, 80, of Kanawha, passed away, Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at Westview Care Center in Britt.

Buster, the son of Clarence and Wilma (Knapp) Anderson, Sr.  was born May 30, 1923, in Newman Grove, Nebraska.  The family moved to the Denison, Iowa area when Buster was a child.  He attended school in the area, and graduated from Lytton High School.  Following graduation, from high school, Buster was employed as a farm hand.

On February 11, 1945, Buster was united in marriage with Margaret Carlson at the Lutheran Church in Gowrie, Iowa.  The couple made their home in the Kanawha area.

For many years, Buster was engaged in farming in the Kanawha area; he also sold DeKalb Seed Corn with L.P. Johnson for a number of years.  Buster retired in 1993 and the couple moved into Kanawha.

Buster enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Brotherhood.  He also served as secretary of the Conservation League for a number of years.

Buster is survived by his Margaret; two sons: Roger D. Anderson and his wife, Millie of Kanawha and Les Allen Anderson and his wife, Vicky of Kanawha; three grandchildren; one sister Alyce Thompson of Lake City, Iowa; two brother Ruel Anderson of Lytton and George Anderson and his wife, Eleanor of Gowrie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
