Donald D. Ebbers

Donald D. Ebbers, 64, of Britt, Iowa passed away Friday, December 22, 2000, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.

Donald, the son of Lawrence and Marth(ruhnke) Ebbers was born October 5, 1936 in Mason City and attended the Mason City Schools.  Donald entered the United States Navy in 1956.

Donald was united in marriage with Rayette Sedgwick on April 28, 1958 in Stephentown, New York.

Following his discharge from the Navy, the couple moved to Iowa where he was employed by various companies, including John Deere, Clear Lake Bakery and Winnebago Industries.  Retiring from Winnebago on September 18, 1998.

Donald held membership in the Moose Lodge in Mason City, Silver Stars in Britt and attended the Upper Flat Evangelical Free Church.

Donald is survived by his wife, Rayette of Britt; two daughters, Rayetta Rasmussen and her husband, Larry of Yankton, South Dakota, and Martha Dirk and her husband, Bruce of Thompson, Iowa; two sons, Don Ebbers, Jr. and his wife, Katrese of Ankeny, Iowa and Wayne Ebbers and his wife, Kari of Rapid City, South Dakota; his mother, Martha Meyer of Mason City; nine grandchildren; one brother, John Ebbers and his wife, Nancy of Mason City; one sister Ruth Thompson of Phenix City, Alabama; two half-brothers, Joe Reiff and his wife, Julie of Lockeford, California, and Al Reiff and his wife, Barb of Ankeny, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, and one brother-in-law.
