Glenn "Butch" Schleuger

Glenn “Butch” Schleuger, 76, of Britt, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Visitation for Butch Schleuger will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt.

Graveside services will he held at Bingham Township Cemetery in Woden at a later date.

Glenn Henry Schleuger was born May 19, 1940 to Henry and Marie (Watson) Schleuger on their family farm near Miller, Iowa.

He attended country school up to the age of 16 then he started driving truck for his Dad.  Butch drove truck for 60 years.  He also farmed with his family in Hancock and Winnebago Counties.

Butch was united in marriage to Jackie Iverson on September 19, 1959 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and listening to polka music.  He was a hardworking determined man.

He was survived by his children Kathy (Doug) Zuehl, Terri (Doug) Verbrugge, Kim Schleuger, Matt (Kathy) Schleuger, and Peggy Schleuger; grandchildren Jake, Rachael, Kane, Kale, and Kia Zuehl, Jason and Patrick Verbrugge, Allen and Alex Schleuger, Adderly and Mark Hanna, Zac and Chris Schleuger, and Amanda and Ashley Higgins; sister Rosie Gerdes; brothers Darold (Sondra) Schleuger and Dan (Julie) Schleuger; Aunt Shirley Watson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jackie, son Ricky, and grandson Brad Zuehl.
