Obituary


Janet M. (Keane) Beem-Boll, 68, of Dows and formerly of Williams, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton.

Funeral services for Janet Beem-Boll will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the First Lutheran Church, 206 West Ellsworth Street in Dows with Pastor Zach Fischer officiating. Burial will take place at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Williams.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the First Lutheran Church, 206 West Ellsworth Street in Dows and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Janet Marie, daughter of Harold and Leona (Smith) Keane, was born on July 20, 1949 in Iowa Falls. Janet grew up in the Williams/ Blairsburg area and graduated from Northeast Hamilton High School in 1967. After high school, Janet attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in textiles. Janet started working for the Job Service of Iowa in 1973 until the early 2000s. On May 28, 1982, Janet was united in marriage to Robert Beem in Williams. The couple resided in Duncombe and in 1993 they moved to Lake Cornelia. Bob passed away on June 6, 1998. On August 12, 2002, Janet was united in marriage to Albert Boll and the couple resided in Dows. Janet enjoyed crocheting afghans, sewing and has made an afghan for each grandchild. Janet loved to go swimming, fishing, and camping and even taught her grandchildren how to swim. Her family was her pride and joy. Janet was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a 4-H leader for many years. Janet is survived by her husband Albert Boll of Dows; children Bill (Lou) Beem of Tiffin, John (Kari) Beem of Bunch, OK, Teresa Beem of Webster City, Jeff (Sherry) Beem of Webster City, Brian Beem of Des Moines, and Michael Boll of Dows; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers John (Connie) Keane and Bob (Elaine) Keane both of Williams; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband, parents, and grandparents.
