Obituary


Jeffrey A. Horstman, 50, of Britt passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeff Horstman will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 139 3rd Street Southeast, in Britt with Rev. Dennis Miller officiating.  Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Britt.  

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 PM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Jeffrey Alan Horstman was born July 24, 1962 in Britt to Paul and Millie (Wellik) Horstman.  He graduated from Britt High School in 1981.

On September 17, 1983, Jeff was united in marriage to Nancy Urich at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan.  The couple had three boys, Mitchell, Nicholas, and Alan.

Jeff was employed at Stellar Industries in Garner as a customer service representative.  His hobbies included farming, camping, hunting and golfing, as well as his love for riding his Harley-Davidson on the open road.  He was a very sociable and friendly guy.

Jeff was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Nancy Horstman of Britt; sons, Mitchell (Alicia Shahan) Horstman of Garner, Nicholas Horstman of Britt, and Alan Horstman of Britt; his parents Paul and Millie Horstman of Britt; siblings Vicki and Paul Seufferlein of Austin, Texas, Kathy and Bob Eisenman of Grundy Center, Michael and Nedra Horstman of Britt, Jean Ann and Rich Bruns of Huxley; mother in law Angeline Helmerick of Delta, Colorado; siblings in law Gerald and Rita Urich of Austin, Colorado, Veronica and Oly Maas of Crystal Lake, Tony and Sue Urich of Garner, Yvonne (Carlos Lopez) Vizcarra of Des Moines, Bambie (Jeff Marsters) Urich of Garner, Bonaven and Joyce Urich of Delta, Colorado, Karen and Mark Beasley of Colorado Springs, and Margorie and Charles Langhoff of Payton, Colorado, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by father-in-law Clement Urich, brother-in-law Bernard Urich, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
