John R. Daniels, 75, of Britt, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, 707 4th Street South West in Britt, with Pastors Robert Dodge and Jim Beranek co-officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. John Robert Daniels, the son of John and Catherine (Houston) Daniels, was born June 25, 1943 in Corwith, Iowa. John grew up in Corwith and graduated with the class of 1961.  He continued his education at the Eagle Grove Junior College before returning home to work. He held various jobs but retired as a lead supervisor at Winnebago Industries. John married Darlene Everett in 1964 in Stilson, Iowa.  The couple lived there for a year before making Britt their home.  They would have had their 54 year wedding anniversary on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and family camping trips. John loved watching sports especially basketball and anything involving his grandchildren.  He was very proud of his Goddaughter, Roxanne Savoy, and how she helped take her team to the State Basketball Tournament. John took pride in providing for his family and everything he did was for them.  He was a great teacher, father, grandfather, and friend. John is survived by his wife, Darlene; two sons John "J.J." (Karen) Daniels of Webster City and Jason Daniels of Charles City; grandchildren Lucas, Landon, Madison, Payton, Marissa, and Jaxon; brother-in-law Robert (Carol) Everett along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James and Jerry and his loyal companion Bo.
