Larry Anderson

Larry Anderson, 69, of Garner, formerly of Britt battled cancer and fought until the end, rising to the Lord on August 16, 2017.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, Britt, Iowa. Graveside services will follow visitation on Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Larry Anderson was born June 19, 1948 in Mason City to Toad and Irene Anderson. He was raised in Crystal Lake and moved to Britt in the 7th Grade. He graduated from Britt High School in 1966, where he met the love of his life, Cindy Lou (Nelson) Anderson.

Larry continued his education and graduated from Hamilton Business College. He worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 40 years, retiring in 2008.

He married Cindy on September 22, 1967 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They spent a total of 53 years together.

Larry loved his family, enjoyed his grand kids and his many close friends. He enjoyed softball, golf, bowling, challenging crosswords, playing cards, and trips up north fishing, our early vacations with the kids, camping at Crystal Lake and Clear Lake, the infamous trip to South Dakota, and the adult trips to Jamaica, Myrtle Beach, and winters in Phoenix.

Larry was a loyal friend, kind and faithful.

He is survived by his wife Cindy; daughter Angela Tapp; son Cory (Jaye) Anderson; grand kids Tylor, Kole, Abbie, Zach, and Hailey; great-granddaughter Geuliuna; sister Peg (Red Putzstuck) Claude; brothers Mike (Mary) Anderson and Craig Anderson.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother Irene, father Toad, and sister Carolyn.
