Obituary


Mae Etta Cramer, 89, of Clarion passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center in Clarion.

Funeral services for Mae Etta Cramer will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 405 2nd Street in Blairsburg, with Pastor Tom Bower officiating. A private family burial will take place at Blairsburg Cemetery in Blairsburg.

Visitation for Mae Etta Cramer will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday.

Mae Etta Helen (Mogle) Cramer, the daughter of Clinton J and Elizabeth Anne (Bohemann) Mogle was born October 28, 1925 in Etna Township of Harden County, near Ackley, Iowa.

Mae Etta attended rural schools and graduated from Iowa Falls High School with the Class of 1943. Upon graduation, she worked at various jobs, as a clerk at JJ Newberry Store in Iowa Falls, at the Sutton Hatchery, at the Baptist Assembly grounds in Iowa Falls as a baker for summer camps, and as at waitress at the White House Lunch Room in Iowa Falls.

Mae Etta was united in marriage to Earl W. Cramer on October 6, 1946 at the Congregational Church in Iowa Falls. The couple settled on the Cramer farm near Blairsburg where they raised their family.

Mae Etta belonged to the neighborhood club, was a 4-H leader, a Farm Bureau Township Chairman and belonged to the Blairsburg U.C.C. Congregational Church, helping on various boards and committees.

Mae Etta was a homemaker and helped with the farm duties. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, quilting, cooking and canning. She and Earl retired from farming in 1996 and moved to the Meadows in Clarion in 2004.

Mae Etta is survived by her children William (Ruth) Cramer of Clarion and Nancy (Kurt) Greenwood of Altoona; grandchildren Angela (Matt) Dorenkamp of Huxley, Jayson (Jamie) Cramer of Goldfield, Brandon Greenwood and Kaitlyn Greenwood both of Altoona; great-grandchildren Avree Anderson and Makenna Anderson, both of Huxley and Gage Cramer, Meah Cramer, Chase Cramer and Gunner Cramer, all of Goldfield; sister Arlene (Mogle) Sweedler and her husband Kenneth of Williams and brother Lawrence Mogle and his wife Shirley of Urbandale; sisters-in-law Virginia Mogle of Hammond, Indiana, Marlene Mogle of Des Moines, and Helen Cramer of Webster City; along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mae Etta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl in July of 2014, brothers William Mogle and Frederick Mogle, and brother-in-law Charles Cramer.
