Marilyn J. (Sampson) Ingebritson
Marilyn J. Ingebritson, 75 of Dows passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at her home in rural Dows.
Funeral services for Marilyn Ingebritson will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at First Lutheran Church, 206 West Ellsworth Street in Dows with Pastor Nicole Woodley officiating. Burial will take place at Olson Cemetery in rural Dows.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Marilyn June (Sampson) Ingebritson was born June 19, 1942 in Fort Dodge Iowa. She was raised in Eagle Grove and graduated in 1960 from Eagle Grove High School. She went to Iowa Central Community College and graduated from the Secretarial Program.
Marilyn married Marlyn Ingebritson at the First Lutheran Church in Dows. She was a full time farmer’s wife, helping with all the aspects of farming when needed. In the 1980s, Marilyn went to work at First Lutheran Church as a church secretary, and later went to work at the Dows Community School as a secretary. She then went to work at Trump’s Restaurant where she had been working part time. She loved her job at Trump’s and made many friends of co-workers and regular customers. She always had a smile for everyone. She was a cashier and supervisor for 25 years.
Marilyn taught Sunday school, was a Sunshine Lady, and was also on the Altar Guide Committee at First Lutheran.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Marlyn; her children Richard and Cynthia; her grandchildren Alexandra, Matthew, Joseph, and Dylan; her brother Mel Sampson; along with many other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
