Marjorie Ann Buns was born on May 24, 1927 to Herman and Anna (Schleuger) Buns near Woden.  Marge graduated from Woden High School with the class of 1944.

She continued her education at the University of Minnesota while spending the summers working at Yellowstone National Park.

Marge was united in marriage to Raymond Hobbs on December 17, 1953.  The couple made their home on a farm south of Woden where they raised their children Clay and Jolene.  Marge was the bookkeeper and did the payroll for her family’s road construction business, as well as for the farm.

She always liked to go shopping and really missed her weekly or bi-weekly trips to Mason City.  Golfing was a great passion for her, and she was pretty good at it too!  Marge also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities and family gatherings.  She would usually bring a pie or some kind of dessert…she really liked to have dessert after a meal.

Marge always looked forward to spending her winters in Florida with Ray and their many friends there until they sold their winter home in 2009.  In December 2014, Marge moved into the Summit House in Britt and was active in most if not all activities.  She enjoyed the companionship and care while she lived there.

Marjorie is survived by her son Clay (Pat) Hobbs of Britt; grandchildren Ryan, Evan, Logan, and Morgan Hobbs; brother Robert Buns of Garner; sisters-in-law Jerry Hobbs of Crystal Lake and Janice (Lyle) Doege of Woden; brother-in-law James Hobbs of Crystal Lake; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 2014, her parents, and daughter Jolene in 1974.
