Obituary


Mary Naomi Harriman, 94, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, formerly of Kanawha passed away Saturday, August 11, 2001 at Good Samaritan Home in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Mary Naomi Harriman, the daughter of Robert E. and Katherine (Ackarman) Trainer was born January 5, 1907 in Gerald, Indiana.  She moved as a child with her family to Burt, Iowa and then Kanawha where she received her education.

Mary Naomi married Wm. D. Harriman in Kanawha on March 15, 1927 and to thus union four children were born.  Bettie (Bob) Johnson of Britt, Wm. G. (Mary) Harriman of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Henry Robert (Norva) Harriman of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Kay (Allan) Craig of Andover, Minnesota.

She was affiliated with the Methodist Churches of Kanawha and Albert Lea.  She loved to read, do crafts, and feed the birds.  Mary Naomi has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Albert Lea for nine years.

She is survived by her immediate children and their families, step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Doris Tainer of Fort Dodge and Leona Harriman of Birmingham, Alabama, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, her parents, brother Jerry and Bob of Fort Dodge, sister Eloise Pruisman of Kanawha, and infant brother, Noel, of Gerald, Indiana, grandchildren, Margaret Stenvold, Patrick Harriman, Shawn Harriman, and James West Gwinn, and daughter-in-law Gladys Harriman.
