Obituary


Richard ‘Dick’ Holck, 61, of Goodell passed away Wednesday May 2, 2012, at home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services for Dick Holck will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1207 3rd Street North East, in Belmond with Reverend Nils Hernandez officiating.  Burial will take place at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 118 East Second Street, in Kanawha and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Dick was born on July 17, 1950, in Mason City to Henry and Norma (Haaf) Holck. He graduated from Kanawha High School in 1968.

Throughout his life Dick held different positions with Kanawha Grain Elevators, Clarion Implement and Sparboe Farms. He also farmed and raised livestock.

He loved hunting, fishing, animals and spending time with his niece and nephew.  Dick will be remembered for his fun loving personality and especially for the pranks he would pull on his family and friends.

Dick is survived by his sister, Diane Smith of Belmond, brother, Lee (Regina) Holck of Belmond and sister, Jill (David) Kent of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; niece, Heidi (Johnpaul) Kent-Mack of Cottage Grove, Minnesota and nephew, Spc. Adam Kent, serving in the US Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Norma and brother-in-law, Marvin Smith.
