Sven H. Anderson

Sven Holger Anderson, 92, of Clarion passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Careage of Clarion. Funeral services for Sven Anderson will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Clarion with Pastor Don Morrison officiating.  Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.  Visitation for Sven Anderson will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Ewing Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion and continue one hour prior to services at the church. Sven, son of Algot Konrad (A.K.) Anderson and Elsie Marie Ingerson Anderson was born December 14, 1915, in Sweden. The family came to America in 1921 and settled in Wall Lake Township, Wright County, Iowa. On January 26, 1941, Sven was united in marriage with El Vena June Hawe at the Methodist parsonage in Clarion, Iowa. The couple spent their farming years in Wright and Franklin County. In later years Sven worked as a service technician for various John Deere Implement dealerships. The couple moved into Clarion in 1973. Sven was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion. His favorite free time activities included fishing, visiting with friends and family, and woodworking. Over the years he made many toys, puzzles, outdoor decorations, tables, detailed dominos and checker games and a grandmother clock. Survivors include daughter, Beverly Claude and her husband Francis of Clarion, Iowa; granddaughter, Cathy Claude of Cassville, Missouri; great granddaughter, Amber Powel and her husband, Stan of Berryville, Arkansas; great grandson Tracy Mikesh of Cassville, Missouri; great great granddaughter, Alexis Powell of Berryville, Arkansas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, El Vena on April 2, 2002; brothers Nels, Eldon, Everett and Melvin Anderson.
