Obituary


Yvonne Bird, 55, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Memorial services for Yvonne Bird will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt with Pastor Stan Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation for Yvonne Bird will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt, and will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday morning.

Cheryl Yvonne, the daughter of Trendell and Dorothy (Cupp) Reynolds was born February 28, 1962 in Grandview, Idaho. Yvonne’s family made their home wherever her father was stationed, eventually settling in Joplin, Missouri, where she grew up. She graduated from Webb City High School.

Yvonne relocated to Thompson, Iowa, then later to Britt where she raised her family. Yvonne was united in marriage to Roger Bird on October 8, 1988.

Yvonne worked as a nurses’ aid in a number of care centers around the area, and later at Five Star Cooperative before retiring due to ill health.

Yvonne loved to camp and go fishing, collecting coins and trading cards. When in good health, she was constantly on the go, visiting friends and family. In more recent years, Facebook and text messaging allowed her to keep in contact with her loved ones.

Yvonne is survived by her children Shannon Robinson and her daughter Nia of Des Moines, Amy (Nate) Juhl and children Levi and Haley Wood and Gage Juhl of Forest City, and Joel (Katy) Showalter and children Deven, Landon, and Lily of Rockwell; siblings Jerry (Duanne) Reynolds, Dalton (Leisa) Reynolds, Anita Demery, Barbara (Herb) Owens, Mechelle Budd, Larry (Trish) Reynolds and Larry Smith; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger in 2014, sister Deborah Miller, and brothers Gary Reynolds and Terry Reynolds.
