Donald Studer, 59, of Britt passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial for Don Studer will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016, at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 139 3rd Street South East in Britt with Fr. Jerry Kopacek and Fr. Jim Dubert officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation for Don Studer will be at 9:00 AM on Friday at the church.

Donald Henry Studer was born on July 26, 1956 to Rollin “Chuck” and Maxine (Klocke) Studer in Britt, Iowa.   Don grew up in the Britt area, graduating from Britt High School in 1975. After high school, Don worked for Morton Buildings and Winnebago Industries but farming was his true passion. In 1984 he was injured in a swimming accident, but it didn’t stop him from enjoying his favorite things in life.

Don was especially fond of racing and race cars.  He could be found nearly every week at the Hancock County Speedway.  Don also enjoyed canning, gardening, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and watching sports. Don was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt and was involved with the Knights of Columbus.

Unlike his famous pies with the perfect crust, Don never sugar coated anything; he was a straight forward man with good intentions. He cherished spending time with his children and five grandchildren.

Donald is survived by his children Josh (Laura) Studer and their children Wesley and Levi of Britt and Katie (Dan) Mourlam and their children Henry, Nora, and Violet of Vermillion, South Dakota; his parents Chuck and Maxine Studer of Britt; siblings Debora (Tom) Halfpap of Mason City, twin Dennis (Debra) Studer of Britt, Douglas (Cris) Studer of Britt, Dean (Christine) of Vinton, and Deanne (Marlin) Tjarks of Wesley; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Hancock Ambulance Service.
