Obituary


Agnes Selma Thompson Rust, 83, passed away Friday, March 13, 1992 at the Kanawha Community Home.

Agnes, the daughter of Sievert and Nellie (Hanson) Thompson was born June 2, 1908 in Eagle Grove, Iowa.  She moved with her parents to Kanawha in 1914.  She received her education in the Kanawha schools and attended Ellsworth College.  She taught in the Kanawha area.  She was united in marriage with Raymond Rust in 1928 at Clarion.  She lived on a farm until 1954.  Agnes was employed in Nursing homes at Mason City, Britt and Kanawha until 1973.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women at Kanawha.  She enjoyed needle work, crafts and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sisters and a son Leonard on September 21, 1991.

Survivors include three sons: Merle and wife Carla of Kanawha; Richard and wife Harriet of Mason City; Jerry and wife Betty of Goldfield; two sisters: Mrs. Shirlie Kirkeby and husband Willmer and Mrs. Nuella Franzeen both of Fort Dodge; a brother Donald Thompson of Chula Vista, California; four grandchildren: Terry Rust, Kathi Heady, Jean Wilcox, Jeff Rust and six great-grandchildren: Randy, Stephanie, and Allison Rust, Derek and Kevin Wilcox and Tyler Rust.
