Obituary


Albert John Claude, 83, of Clarion, passed away Friday, December 24, 2004 at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Funeral services for Albert Claude will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 1:30 PM at the Clarion Church of Christ  in Clarion, Iowa, with Pastor Tim Platt officiating.  Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation for Albert Claude will be held on Monday, December 27, 2004 from 5:00 –7:00 PM at the Ewing Dugger Funeral Home 602 North Main Clarion and continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Albert John Claude was born on April 17, 1921 at Rowan to Fred & Hazel (Johnson) Claude.

He was educated at Goldfield until 1937 when he was injured in a house moving accident. He had a year of hospitalization and had to learn to walk again.

In 1942 Albert was united in marriage to Erma Lucille Mason.  He worked in a shipyard in California during the war. Albert worked at the Goldfield elevator, Clarion Produce, and the Holmes Co-op.

Surviving Albert are his daughters Alberta Jean Bennett and her husband Tom of Ottosen, Lois Whipple and her husband Bob of Belmond; son Ronald and his wife Eileen of Maxwell; sisters, Viola Schnell of Clarion, Maxine Clark of Ohio; brother, Glen and his wife LaVonne of Vincent; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Erma; parents, Fred and Hazel; two brothers, Clayton and Richard; and one sister, Evelyn Rhiner.
