Obituary


Albert Tripp, 63, of Clarion, formerly of Spencer, passed away Friday, February 4, 2005, at his home in Clarion.

A gathering of family and friends for Albert Tripp will be held on Monday, February 7, 2005, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, Clarion, IA.

Graveside services for Albert Tripp will be at 1:00 PM on February 8, 2005 at Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg, Iowa with Pastor Dennis Angland officiating.

Albert Clarence Tripp was born to parents Alvie and Irene (Pierce) Tripp September 6, 1941 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised in the Bradgate, Emmetsburg and Webb areas.

On September 30, 1962 Albert was united in marriage to Pamela Taylor in Spencer. To this union 3 daughters were born. The couple resided in Webb while Albert farmed with his father outside of Webb.

Albert farmed south of Spencer for numerous years, moving to Clarion in 1985. He was a mail carrier for several years in the Clarion area before working for Ennis Trucking. He was owner and operator of his own truck and went all over the United States for 14 years until his retirement.

He was a policeman for the Clay County Fair for 33 years, taking two weeks of vacation every year to police the grounds. Albert enjoyed gardening, coon hunting, spending time with his grandkids, working with his hands and helping family and friends.

He was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by all.

Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Karen Van Thournout and her husband Craig of Urbandale, Deann Eivins and her husband Michael of Iowa City, Dawn Tripp of Spencer; grandchildren, Curtis and Brandon Tripp of Spencer, Jessica Hermsted of Emmetsburg, Ashley, Alexander and Abraham Eivins of Iowa City, Jade and Carver Van Thournout of Urbandale; his mother, Irene Pierce of Emmetsburg; sisters, Arlene Webster of Bode and Ilene Birchard of Dayton Ohio; brothers, Dale Tripp of Everly and Arnold Tripp of Albert Lea, Minnesota; special other half, Cindy Espeseth; and various other family members

Albert was preceded in death by his father, Alvie Tripp; brothers Alvin, and Allan Tripp; and his niece, Jenifer Webster.
