Obituary


Alfred William Harle, son of Gottlob and Frida (Ausenheimer) Harle, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 1997 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.  Alfred was born June 6, 1931, in Britt and was 65 years old at the time of his death.

Alfred attended the Bethel Baptist Church in Britt until the age of 15 and at that time made a personal and public commitment to the Lord - realizing he was a sinner and in need of salvation.  His person relationship with the Lord was very precious to him throughout his life.  He served his church faithfully as an Elder in the church, and a 5-6 Sunday School teacher for 20 years.

Alfred attended rural schools and graduated from Britt High School.  In 1952, he entered he U.S. Army and served his country in Korea.  He was discharged in 1954 and returned to Britt to farm with his father.

On April 9, 1966, he was united in marriage with JoAnn Smeby at Hanlontown, Iowa.  Alfred enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, his children, Tamara (Harle) Becker and her husband, James of Lake Elmo, MN; Michele (Harle) Nolby and her Fiance, Erik Rasmussen; two grandsons, Collin Becker and Seth Nolby; two sisters, Hildegard Carlson and her husband, Marlowe of Omaha, NE; Mary Jane Lange of Sherburn, MN; a sister-in-law, Blance Friedow of Kanawha, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Herman , one sister, Gertrude, and two brothers-in-law, Alvin Swanson and Howard Lange.
