Obituary

Alice K. Trausch, age 80, passed away Sunday July 3, 2005 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday July 5, 2005 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion with Fr. David Beckman officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Alice K. Trausch daughter of Erasmus Ross and Christine (Murphy) Studer was born February 24, 1925 in Mallard, IA. In 1934 the family moved to a farm near Clarion. She attended country school.

On June 5, 1943 Alice was united in marriage to Francis Trausch at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion.

Alice had a very strong spirit; no matter how down or sick she was she never gave up. She also never gave up on a sick or lame animal. Many were brought to her with the statement “If you can save it you can have it”. Farming was everything to her. Alice was raised on a farm, she and Francis farmed, and her heart was always in the farm. She was a life long member of St. John’s Catholic Church, and the Altar Society. Church was very important to Alice, no matter what the weather she said “Get me to Mass.”

Alice is survived by her daughter, Kathleen and her husband John of Clarion; one sister, Mary Hilton of Pocahontas; her special girls, Ellen Olson of Des Moines, Sue Ann Hollingsworth of Perry; two grandsons, John Meyer and his fiancée Megan of Ankeny, Jim Meyer and his fiancée Melissa of Madison, Wisconsin; one great-granddaughter, Legacy; and various other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis in 1990, and five brothers.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the Wright County Humane Society at the discretion of the family.
