Alice Lamfers

    Alice Lamfers, 83, of Britt, formerly of Clarion, Iowa passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Westview Care Center in Britt.   Funeral services for Alice Lamfers will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Ewing Funeral Home in Kanawha with Pastor Daniel Lindley officiating.  Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.   Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 9:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Ewing Funeral Home, 118 East 2nd Street in Kanawha.   Alice Lamfers, daughter of Ben and Annie (Hiller) Lamfers, was born at her parents’ home in Kanawha, Iowa on December 5, 1927.  She was one of 14 children, which included 5 brothers and 9 sisters.  She attended school in the Kanawha area.   Alice, along with her brother Oafae, lived in several places.  While residing in Clarion, Iowa, she was a caregiver at the Clarion nursing home in her later years.  She later became a resident of Westview Care Center in Britt, Iowa.   Alice is survived by her sister Gertrude Paulson of Garner, Iowa; her brother Bernard Lamfers of Jenison, Michigan; sister-in-law Phyllis Wenig of Belmond, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.   Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters Seabo Lamfers, Grace Schoolcraft, Carrie Busemann, Frieda Mehus, Marie Lamfers in infancy, Marion Lamfers, Kasper Lamfers, Oafae Lamfers, Bennie Lamfers, Lena Dove, Jennie Crenhow, and Sadie Dirks.
