Alverta J. (Moyer) Johnson

Alverta Josephine Johnson, 82, of Kanawha, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2001 at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City.

Alverta Johnson the daughter of Joseph and Esther (Heim) Moyer was born June 13, 1918, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.  She received her education in the Myserstown area schools.

Alverta was united in marriage with Everett F. Johnson on March 8, 1947, in Myerstown, Pennsylvania.  Following their marriage the couple moved to Kanawha.   Everett passed away in 1983, and Alverta continued to make her home in Kanawha.

Alverta is survived by one daughter, Esther Mary and her husband Jim Quairoli, of Myerstown, Pennsylvania; two sons: Dennis Johnson of Des Moines of Johnson, of Kanawha; one grandson, Christtopher; one sister, Janice and her husband, George Bowman, of Lakefield, Minnesota, one brother, LaRoy and his wife, Irene Moyer, of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, and Muffin her cat of eight years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett, infant son Donald in 1961, and one sister Betty Johnson.
