Obituary


Ann Hinders, 89, of Britt passed away Thursday, November 8, 2001 at the Westview Care Center in Britt, Iowa.

Ann, the daughter of David and Druscila (Wise) Noble, was born January 20, 1912 in Clear Creek, Illinois.  The family moved to the Titonka area, where Ann attended school, graduating in 1927.

Ann was united in marriage with Martin Hinders on December 22, 1928, in Fairmont, Minnesota.  To this union, three children were born, twin girls, Doris and Deloris in 1929 and son, Tom in 1931.  The couple made their home and farmed in the Woden/Wesley area for a number of years before moving to Erin Township where they farmed until their retirement in 1964.  Debbie was adopted by her grandparents in 1971 after living with them since birth.

Ann was a member of the United Methodist Church in Britt, Eastern Star, Lioness, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary.  She liked to travel; paint pillowcases and enjoyed going to trap shooting with her husband.  She also enjoyed spending time with her dog Tammy and with Rick and Deb's dogs.

Ann is survived by one son, Tom Hinders and family of Ames; one daughter, Debbie Dirksen and her husband Rick of Britt; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and special niece, Mickey Noble of Britt.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1928; her mother in 1955; husband, Martin, August 19, 1975; daughter Deloris, February 5, 1978; daughter, Doris, September 11, 2011; and Charles (June) Noble, December 29, 1972.
