Obituary
Anna Lorena Schreur, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 1995, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Anna was born June 21, 1910 in Kanawha, to Okko and Mary (Gatena) Uken. She graduated from Kanawha High School in 1928. Anna worked in the grocery store in Kanawha. On April 6, 1938, she was united in marriage to George Schruer at Kanawha. The couple made their home on a farm near Kanawha, where they have lived their entire married life. Anna was a member of the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church and the Ladies Aide in which she was very active.
Survivors include her husband, George, her daughter Ruth and her husband, Larry Dirksen of Woden, Iowa and their children, David & Karen Dirksen, Susan & Bruce Vriezen and Mike Dirksen; her son, Robert and his wife, Char Schreur of Kanawha, Iowa, and their children, Tim & Diane Schreur, Nate, Dan and Aaron; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Martha Eekhoff of Wellsburg, Iowa and Betty Schreur of Kanawha, Iowa; a brother: Harm and his wife, Anna Uken of Kanawha, Iowa; and a sister-in-law: Thressa Uken of Outlook, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Donald, three brothers-in-law, Edward Eekhoff, John Schreur, Garrett Schreur, and two sisters-in-law, Zelda Schreur and Mary Schreur.
