Anna 'Shi' M. (Schroeder) Reiland

Anna ‘Shi’ (Schroeder) Reiland, 100, of Clarion passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Shi Reiland will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 608 2nd Avenue Northeast in Clarion, with Father Jerry Blake officiating. Burial will be held at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Anna Maude, daughter of Norman and Ruby (Chapman) Schroeder was born on January 28, 1918 in Clarion. Shi attended country school and Clarion High School. She lived in Clarion or rural Clarion her entire life. She was a homemaker and worked at the Clarion Dairy for several years, Mueller Studio also for many years, and she contracted acreage for detasseling corn.

On January 28, 1937, Shi was united in marriage to Oswald ‘Ozzie’ Reiland at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion. To this union, five sons were born.

Shi enjoyed various hobbies, which included quilting and tending to her flower gardens. She cherished her coffee time with “the girls.” Most important, Shi loved all of her family. Shi was a long time member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Clarion, a member of the church circle, and a quilting group.

Shi is survived by her two sons Richard of Clarion and Ronald (Mary) of Savanna, IL; daughters-in-law Shirley (Duane) and Dee (Dwight); six grandchildren: Julene (Randy) Slusher of Virginia (Richard), John (Chris) Reiland of Montana, Ronda (Matt) Cousins of Illinois, Jason (Susan) Reiland of Illinois (Ronald), Jeff (Jenny) Reiland of Iowa, and Pat (Angie) Reiland of Iowa (Dwight); seven step-grandchildren: Russell, Scott, Todd, Jeff, Terry, Tom, and Penny (Duane); 30 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great grandchildren, and eight great-great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Dean (Joan) and Don from Clarion; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband in 1991, her parents, one brother, four sisters, three sons: Duane, Dwight, and Timothy, daughters-in-law Lyn and Sonja, and a grandson, Matthew Reiland.
