Obituary


Anton "Tony" F. Ptacek, 72, passed away Sunday, June 30, 1991 at his home in Britt, Iowa.

Tony, the son of Adolph and Mary (Nedved) Ptacek was born July 14, 1918 near Duncan, Iowa.  He received his education in the rural school system.

On January 6, 1942 he was united in marriage with Ileene Kunkel at St. Benedict Catholic Church at St. Benedict, Iowa.  Tony farmed and worked in the implement business his entire life.  In 1980 he retired from Urich Implement in Garner, Iowa.

Tony was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt and also a member of the Catholic Workmen Lodge for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Bill Raw and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Blance) Witte.

Survivors include his wife, Ileene Ptacke of Britt, Iowa; three daughters: Mrs. Darold (Sondra) Schleuger of Forest City, Iowa; Mrs. Jan Raw of Britt, Iowa; Mrs. Thomas (Sharon) Holck of Quincy, Illinois; his grandchildren: Mrs. Randy (Cheryl) Pederson of Fertile, Iowa; Mrs. Mike (Carol) Kirschbaum of Leland, Iowa; Carla Schleuger of Morristown, New Jersey; Curt Schleuger of Forest City, Iowa; Tony and Tammy Raw of Britt, Iowa; Ryan, Steve, Kevin and Ian Holck of Quincy, Illinois; two great-grandchildren, Laura and Adam Pederson of Fertile, Iowa; one brother, Clarence Ptacek and his wife, Verneil of Garner, Iowa; five sisters: Mrs. James (Mary) Kral of Taylor, Wisconsin; Mrs. Michael (Agnes) Kumsher of Britt, Iowa; Mrs. L.E. (Margaret) Schleusner of Garner, Iowa; Mrs. Allan (Frances) Doughan of Britt, Iowa; two aunts: Mrs. Albina Urich and Clare Ptacek, both of Britt, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.
