Tony Andersen was born at the family farm in rural Clarion, Iowa to Anton and Margaret (Murray) Andersen on August 25, 1934. He was the youngest of six children and as a young boy helped with the family farm. Tony enjoyed farming so much that his first job was as a farmer from 1954-1963.

On September 12, 1953 Tony married his high school sweetheart, Doris Jean Sebert. Together they farmed a small-acre farm outside of Clarion. After moving to Kanawha, Tony and Doris owned and managed a clothing store there from 1963-1965. He then took a job at Hagie Manufacturing, where he retired due to health reasons in 1996 after working there for 30 years.

Tony is survived by his wife Doris; four children: Pamela Young of Garner, Debra Miller of Algona, Linda (Bob) Wiggins of Urbandale and Murray (Julie) Andersen of Alton; nine grandchildren: Tara (Rich) Judge, Seth (Tiffany) Young, Jennifer (Larry) Lawson, Amanda Miller, Marissa Miller, Brandon Wiggins, Brittany Wiggins, Andrea Andersen and Angel Andersen; two great-grandchildren: Ilsa Judge and Carson Miller; brothers and sisters: Alvin (Maurine) Andersen of Hampton, Orville (Janice) Andersen of Franklin, North Carolina, Marjorie Harrigan of Kanawha and Elaine Hawley of Laurens; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Margaret; sister Norma Blilie; and son-in-law Dennis Miller.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kanawha Lutheran Church.
