Obituary
Barbara Anne Knowles, 57, passed away Sunday, August 16, 1992 at her home in Clear Lake, Iowa.
Barbara, the daughter of Norbert W. Hughson and Dorothy (Hansen) McBride, was born January 17, 1935 at Oelwein, Iowa. She received her education in the Oelwein and West Des Moines area schools.
On September 2, 1952, she was united in marriage with Clarke Knowles at Des Moines. The couple made their home in various communities throughout Nebraska, Missouri and Iowa, moving to Britt in 1978. In 1981, they moved to Clear Lake and Barbara was employed as a subrogator for the Kemper Insurance Company. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Clear Lake.
She is survived by her husband, Clarke of Clear Lake; seven children: Anne Borts of Nevada; Kathy Knowles of Kennewick, Washington; Jeffery Knowles of Anaheim Hills, California; Lynn Knowles; Clarke (Doug) Knowles of Marshalltown; Bradley Knowles of Decatur, Illinois; Patrick Knowles of Laurel, Maryland; eight grandchildren; her mother, Dorothy McBride of Norwalk and her step-mother, Peggy McBride of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norbert W. Hughson.
