Barbara F. (Grett) Gardner, 72, of Clarion, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion. Per Barb's wishes, no services will be held. Barbara Fay, daughter of William and Waltrude (Hentze) Grett, was born on January 12, 1952 in Berlin, Germany. The first four years of her life were spent in Berlin before her family moved to Oklahoma City. Barb grew up in Oklahoma City where she attended school and graduated high school. In 1984, Barb was united in marriage to Bryan Gardner. Over the years, Barb stayed at home while raising their three children. She also did book keeping for Bryan's business. Barb enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. She loved canning vegetables and spending time with her dog, Chang. Barb will be remembered for her wit and kindness. She is survived by her husband Bryan Gardner; children Jill Serota, Pete (Susan) Grett, and Bradley Gardner; four grandchildren; brother-in-law James Zercher; Bryan's siblings Julie Butler, Jay Gardner, and James Gardner; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Waltrude Grett; and sister Margaret Zercher.
