Obituary


Ben Seebeck, 87, of Kanawha passed away Friday, February 25, 2000 at the Belmond Community Hospital in Belmond, Iowa.

Ben the son of Charles and Cora (Abbas) Seebeck was born April 12, 1912 near Kanawha, Iowa in Wright County.  He received his education in the rural Wright County schools.

Ben was united in marriage with Anna Folkerts Van Dusseldorp on November 14, 1934 at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church parsonage.  The couple farmed in the Kanawha area for many years.

Ben was a member of the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church.  He was a farmer all his life, and enjoyed fishing, farming, and visiting with his family and friends.

Ben is survived by his daughter Connie and her husbad, Don Melohn of Fort Dodge, Iowa two grandsons Mark and hiswife, Bonnie of Kanawha and Ron and his wife, Susan of Kanawha; one great-granddaughter; two step great-grandchildren; three brothers Henry and his wife, Tillie of Britt, Clarence and his wife, Gen of Britt, and George and his wife, Pearl of Sunnyside, Washington; one sister-in-law Marian Seebeck of Britt; one brother-in-law Gerhard Prull of Kanawha, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna, in August of 1985, two sisters Cornelia, in infancy, and Marie Prull (1991), two brothers Charles (1985) and Louie (1996) and one sister-in-law Gladys (1973).
