Obituary
Bernard "Barnie" LeRoy Coyle, passed away Sunday, November 18, 1990 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Bernard, the son of Mike and Julia (Nash) Coyle, was born April 12, 1929 at LuVerne, Iowa. As an infant he moved with his family to a farm near Ottosen where he attended and graduated from the Ottosen school in 1946. He served with the United States Army from 1946 to 1948.
In 1949 Bernard was united in marriage with Alice Olson at Bode, Iowa. The couple moved to Kanawha in 1977. Since 1974 he was employed by Kiefer Built in Kanawha.
Bernard was a member of the V.F.W. and the Severson American Legion Post #77. He enjoyed gardening, old radios and the Hawkeyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Everett.
Survivors include his wife, Alice of Kanawha; three daughters: Laurie Stripling and her husband, Mike of Kanawha; Michele Trauger and her husband, Paul of Livermore; Becky Vaudt and her husband, Denny of Dakota City; two sons: Bruce and his wife Sue of Bode; David and his wife, Sandy of LuVerne; 11 grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Donald (Gertie) Brandhoij of Bradgate; Mrs. Marvin (Bernice) Weir of Farmington, Minnesota.
