Bernice Young

Bernice Young, 89, was born on May 30, 1916.  She made her home with us at Westview Care Center in September of 2001.  Bernice passed away on July 19, 2005.

Bernice was our "Queen of England" Her crown and jewelry were her pride and joy.  She enjoyed having her girls put her makeup on, having her nails done, and her hair put up.  She loved the color red.  Bernice was a big flirt and cherished her boyfriends.  Her favorite seat was by the by the nurses station where she could watch the traffic.  Bernice was an outspoken lady that was set in her ways.  She liked to play penny pitch, attend music programs, and smoking.  Bernice's favorite food was peanut butter toast and cheerios.  Bernice didn't go far without her orange purse and her special purple blanket that was given to her, from her special friend Janice Bertilson.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Anna Behm and her ex-husband Bob Sr. She was survived by two children, Deloris and Bob Jr, special friend Janice Bertilson and her friends at Westview Care Center.
