Betty Arlene Jones, 77, of Britt, passed away November 18, 2004, at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona.
Betty, the daughter of Harvey and Emma (Keller) Bunday, was born February 5, 1927, in Estherville, Iowa.
Betty was united in marriage with Raymond Olthoff on June 11, 1944, at the First Lutheran Church in Britt. To this union five children were born: Penny, Vicky, Lorraine, Wendy, and Roger. Raymond passed away on November 17, 1968.
In March of 1977, Betty was united in marriage with William Jones at the United Methodist Church in Garner. The couple made their home in Britt. Betty became a resident of the Algona Manor this past year.
Betty was employed at Winnebago Industries in Forest City for many years, retiring in 1988.
Betty loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, reading, collecting "Happy Meal Toys" and M&M Collectibles and had a love for blonde cocker spaniels. In her early years, she was a baton majorette and enjoyed roller-skating.
Betty is survived by her husband William Jones of Britt; her children: Penny and Howard Finneman of Mason City, Iowa, Vicky and Fred Grewe of Gibbon, Minnesota, Wendy and Jim Korte of Hiddenite, North Carolina, Roger and Kathy Olthoff of Corwith, Iowa and step-daughter Deneen and Darwin Branstad of Mason City, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; first husband Raymond Olthoff; daughter Lorraine Shepard; three grandchildren; one sister; and one brother.
