Betty L. (Claude) Klatt, 90, of Dows passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at her
son and daughter-in-law's home.
Due to Governor Reynolds' current declaration for limiting attendance at public
gatherings, memorial service details for Betty Klatt are pending.
Betty was a very caring and giving person; to know her was to love her. She
loved her family and friends very much and everyone would say she was a joy to
be around and always made you smile. She had a love for life, and it showed. She
knew how to light up a room just by her presence. Betty was always willing to
help organizations with her time and supported as much as she could.
Betty was born November 12, 1929 in Wright County, Iowa, daughter of Louis and
Margaret (Ross) Claude. Betty attended school in Galt/Dows and worked on the
farm and then Dodger Manufacturing in Eldora, Iowa for 17 years.
Betty enjoyed in her earlier days playing softball for local teams in Eldora,
Iowa. Later in life she was on bowling leagues in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She also
enjoyed suduko puzzles as well as word search and jigsaw puzzles. This kept her
very sharp in mind as she had a great memory up until her last days. Her
favorite pastime was watching Luci and Callie (her buddies) at her son and
daughter-in-law's house, their dog and cat. Days spent on the back porch basking
in the sun was their favorite thing to do.
She is survived by her son, Larry Klatt and wife Tammy of Dows, Iowa; brother,
Bud Claude and wife Ginny of Alden, Iowa; grandchildren, Dan Klatt and wife Amy
of Calamus, Iowa, Kathryn Klatt and James Riehle of Decorah, Iowa; Jessica
Molitor (Klatt) and husband Shawn of Iowa Falls, Iowa; great grandchildren,
Chase and Brayden Klatt of Calamus, Iowa; Lillian Molitor of Iowa Falls, Iowa
and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Robert
Klatt, Sons, Gary and Terry Klatt. Sisters, Wilna Lanigan and Leota Keller.
Brothers, Russell Claude and Bill Wason. Her parents.
