Beverly A. (Gremmer) Spencer

Beverly Spencer, 68, of Britt, Iowa passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Memorial services for Beverly Spencer will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 70 5th Avenue NW, in Britt with Pastor Lee Nelson officiating. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour before the services at the church on Saturday.

Beverly Ann Spencer, the daughter of Hemmo and Nellie (Kearney) Gremmer, was born June 23, 1943 in Hutchins, Iowa. She was raised in the Britt area and graduated from Britt High School.

Beverly was united in marriage with William Spencer on September 26, 1976 in Miller, Iowa. Lisa Kay Scott, Beverly’s daughter from a previous marriage, lived with the couple. Beverly also raised her two grandchildren: Lorienza Rose (Zahrt) and Leean Gilbaugh.

Beverly is survived by her husband, William Spencer; two grandchildren: Lorienza Rose (Zahrt) and her husband William Rose, Leean Gilbaugh and her fiancé Darin Schmidt; her siblings: Jenny (Gremmer) Smith and Kenny Gremmer and his wife Carol Gremmer (Brass); brother-in-law Jim Spencer and his wife Suzzane Spencer and their children and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hemmo and Nellie Gremmer; daughter Lisa Kaye Scott (Gilbaugh); son-in-law Lee Gilbaugh; brother-in-law Gerald Smith; father-in-law Jay Spencer and mother-in-law Ruth (Hamre) Spencer.
