Beverly Mae Ganseveld, the daughter of Jennie Ganseveld, was born July 10, 1942 in Iowa City, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in Britt.
Beverly was united in marriage to Marvin Boomgarden on April 16, 1960, at the Britt Christian Reformed Church. To this union, their daughter Brenda was born. The family lived in Goldfield, rural Renwick and lastly moved into Britt.
While Bev was raising her family, she continued her education at Iowa Central Community College and received her degree in nursing. She worked at various Nursing Homes in the area. Having a big heart and a caring nature, Bev and Marv opened their home to Marv’s cousin Carl Anderson and raised him as their own. They also became foster parents to 14 other children.
In her free time, Beverly enjoyed baking kringla and apple pie, playing cards, board games and marbles, and participating in church activities. Most of all she loved being around her grandchildren and family.
Beverly will be missed for her upbeat positive attitude, smile and warm caring heart.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 62 years Marvin Boomgarden of Britt; daughter Brenda (Rod) Paschke of Webster City, son Carl (Lina) Anderson of Britt; grandchildren Chad Wood, Jelyn (Jeremiah) Johnson, Jhema (Ross Kunert) Anderson, Kerri (Alex) Ausenhus and Maria (David) Kraft; eight great-grandchildren along with nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jennie and brother Harold “Red” Ganseveld.
