Beverly J. (Johnson) Weiland

Beverly Jean Weiland, 63, passed away Friday, January 8, 1999, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.

Beverly, the daughter of Edwin and Lucille (Olson) Johnson, was born March 19, 1935 in Algona, Iowa.  She attended Algona schools, graduating in 1953.  Following her high school graduation, Beverly attended Iowa Methodist Nursing School, graduating in 1956.  On February 23, 2957, she was united in marriage with Kendall Weiland in Algona, Iowa.  The couple made their home for a time in Mason City, Iowa where Beverly was a Registered Nurse, later they moved to Fairmont, Minnesota, where Beverly was employed at the Fairmont Community Hospital.  The couple lived in Minnesota for six years, before moving to their present home near Wesley.  Beverly was a Registered Nurse at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, retiring after serving 30 years.

Beverly was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt.  Following her retirement, Beverly enjoyed traveling, quilting, and spending tie with her grandchildren.  In November of 1998, the family was able to take a special vacation to Disney World in Florida.

Beverly is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Schleuger and her husband, Matthew of Wesley and Kelly Rahn and her husband, Noel of St. Benedict; one son, Timothy and his wife, Lisa of Britt; seven grandchildren; one brother, Dean Willrett and his wife, Karen of Mankato, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Kendall, April 28, 1997.
