Obituary


Beverly Lorraine Bonin, 85, of Clarion passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion.

Beverly L. (Day) Bonin was born on October 9, 1930, in Beaver Township in Humboldt, Iowa. She was the second child of seven born to George and Johanna (Olson) Day. She attended Beaver No. 8 Country School and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1948.

She enjoyed being outdoors working in her garden and flower beds. Like her mother, she loved her flowers. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She couldn’t put out enough Christmas decorations inside and outside. She was so happy to have her home featured on television one season. She will be remembered by her family with a cookie in her hand and a smile on her face.

She is survived by her children, Edward (Gail) Smith of Humboldt, Iowa, Richard (Pam) Smith of Clarion, Iowa, Pat (Lynn) Barz of Dows, Iowa, Robert “Bob” (Melissa) Smith of Webb City, Missouri, Gene Smith of Oakdale, Louisiana, James (Becky) Flurer of Clarion,  and Janice Flurer of Clarion, Iowa; brothers, Gordon (Josephine) Day of Humboldt, Iowa and Lyle (Valerie) Day of Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister, Sharon (Bud) Trowbridge of West Des Moines, Iowa; sister-in-law, Helen Day of Mitchell, South Dakota; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandsons; 1 step-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Norman Gail Day; infant son, Steven Lloyd Smith; daughter, Debra Kniesly; granddaughter, Allison Smith; grandson, Trent Smith; brother, Charles Day; sister, Shelda Everhard and brothers-in-law, Gary Blomker and Raymond Everhard.
