Obituary


Billy A. Schuver, 66, passed away Saturday, February 26, 1994, at his home in Kanawha, Iowa.

Billy, the son of William and Ruth (Johnson) Schuver, was born October 25, 1927 at Holmes, Iowa.  He received his education at rural Kanawha, Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Britt, Iowa.  He entered the U.S. Army in 1946, and was discharged in 1947.

He was united in marriage to Grace Leuwerke on October 24, 1947, at the Woden Christian Reformed Church.  The couple lived a short time in Britt and Thompson, then they moved to a farm southeast of Crystal lake for a year.  In 1951, they moved to a farm east of Kanawha where they lived until moving into Kanawha in November of 1993 due to his illness.  He farmed, was in the insurance business for 26 years, and a hail crop adjuster for 29 years, for Farmers Mutual.

He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Kanawha and the Kanawha American Legion.  He enjoyed his family and will always be remembered for his sport in hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Grace, Kanawha, Iowa; a son, Eddie and his wife, Ramae Schuver, Goodell, Iowa; two daughters: Vickie Schuver, Chicago, Illinois and Debbie and her husband, Billy Duay, Anamosa, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Schuver, Belmond, Iowa; a sister, Rudy and her husband, Hans Sluik, Monrovia, California; a brother, Kay and his wife, Norma Schuver, Bemidji, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded indeath by his parents and a son, Larry Schuver in January of 1990.
