Obituary


Bradley TerHark, 48, of Dakota City, Nebraska and formerly of Kanawha, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his home.

Funeral services for Brad TerHark will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Wright Christian Reformed Church, 1730 East 130rd Street in rural Kanawha, with Pastor Joel DeBoer officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Ewing Funeral Home, 118 East 2nd Street in Kanawha, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Bradley “Bunker” Eugene TerHark was born on July 12, 1967 in Belmond, Iowa, the son of Dennis and Marilyn (Rietema) TerHark. After graduating from Kanawha High School with the class of 1985, Brad attended Dordt College in Sioux Center and graduated with a degree in graphic design in 1988. Following college, Brad worked in Orange City for K-Products, and later moved to Sioux City, where he continued his career in graphic arts.

Brad had many hobbies, including collecting World War II artifacts, tinkering with electronics, and spending time with his cat, Julia.

Brad is survived by his parents Dennis and Marilyn TerHark of Kanawha, Iowa; brothers Brent TerHark of Hull, Iowa, and Barry (Joni) TerHark of Mason City, Iowa; nephew Ethan and niece Erin; and special friend Teresa Blume.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Tom and Verle TerHark, and Art and Henrietta Rietema.
