Brenda Marie (Bellows) Hrubes went home to be with Jesus on April 15, 2023. She was born October 13, 1959 to Beau and Ramona (Barta) Bellows in Waterloo, Iowa Brenda's life will be honored with a private graveside celebration of life. Brenda graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1978. After high school, she continued her education and received degrees in medical assisting, medical transcription, and nursing. She also attended Upper Iowa University and earned her Bachelor's degree in social services. Brenda cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at family gatherings. Brenda had a passion for rescuing dogs and loved her dog, Poppy, dearly. She also enjoyed traveling and loved the ocean. Brenda is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter Ashley Kilpatrick; father, Beau; aunt, Katy; step-children Brandon, Emily, Andrea and Nathan; and her brothers Dave, Dan, Jim, and Matt Bellows, along with their spouses. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Ramona; grandmother, Ruth; nephews David Bellows, CJ Featherston, and Nathan Featherston; and stepson, Ryan Hrubes. In lieu of flowers and other customary remembrances, Brenda's family suggests that memorial donations may be directed to your local animal shelter in her honor.
