Obituary
A private memorial service for Brian Newell Miller, 68, of Clarion will be held Friday, December 18 at First Lutheran Church in Clarion. Brian Miller died Saturday, December 12, 2009.
He was born in Corning, Iowa on February 27, 1941, the son of Albert Miller and Hazel (Hight) Miller.On January 22, 1973 he was united in marriage to Bertha Djuren.
Brian was a very accomplished bowler having rolled several 300 games. Last year, he received recognition for 25 years of participation in the National Bowling Tournament by the American Bowling Congress.
Brian worked with Stromberg Carlson Telephone Company and on his own for 40 years. Brian and Bertha owned and operated the Hi Hatt Lanes in Clarion for 25 years.
Brian is survived by his wife, Bertha Miller of Clarion; four children; Tammy (Greg) Morgan of LeCenter, MN, Suzanne (Howard) Faria of Kaui, HI, Sandy Smith of Jefferson, MO, Thomas Smith of Clarion; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister Peggy Roland of Atlantic; one brother-in-law, Clarence Djuren of New Symra Beach, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Boyd Roland.
