Bruce M. Banwell, 82 of Eagle Grove, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at the
University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Bruce's family will celebrate his life with a private visitation on Tuesday,
April 21, 2020 at Ewing Funeral Home in Clarion.
Bruce Maxson Banwell was born November 27, 1937 to Max and Anne (Croft) Banwell
on a farm Southwest of Dows in Wright County, Iowa. He graduated from Dows High
School.
Bruce married the love of his life, Sharron (Wiltse) Banwell in 1970. They
lived in Williams for 8 years and then moved the family to Eagle Grove.
Bruce loved his work as an over the road trucker for most of his life. He earned
the One Million Mile Award while driving for Ruan Transportation.
Bruce is survived by his loving children: Harlan (Kathy) Barker of Des Moines,
Iowa, Lannette (Dale) Morisset of Springfield, Missouri, Jacqui (Dave) Minor of
Garden City, Kansas, Rhonda (J.R.) Weilert of Garden City, Kansas, Sheryl (Alan)
Hiveley of Goldfield, Iowa, Teresa (Rocky) Nolan of Garden City, Kansas along
with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Leigh (Sherry)
Banwell, Arvilla (Regie) Dencklau, John (Cassie) Banwell, and Victoria Smith.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Sharron, in 2015, his parents Anne and
Max, his brother Arlan Banwell, and his son Donnie Hauser.
