Carlene Cooke

Carlene F. Cooke, 72, passed away Friday, May 4th, 2012 at Wright Medical Center in Clarion, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carlene Cooke will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion with Pastor Nils Hernandez officiating.  Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Carlene Faye Cooke was born on May 27, 1939 in Clarion, Iowa to Nina Genevieve (DeLano) and Robert Bertram Cooke. She was the fourth of five children. She graduated from Clarion High School in 1957.

Carlene was a long time resident of Minneapolis, Minnesota. where she worked in the investment and financial industry. Known for her thoroughness and dedication, she continued to serve as the Chief Financial Officer/Compliance Officer with Emergent Financial Group Inc.

In recent years, she had purchased a home in Clarion in which she planned to retire so she could be closer to her family and friends.

Carlene enjoyed traveling, jazz music, working with beads and shopping. But most of all she loved spending time, especially holidays with her family and friends.

Carlene is survived by her brother, Bob (Bernadine) Cooke of Belmond, Iowa, nieces and nephews; Deb (Wendel) Whipple of Mason City, Diane (Jon) Crawford of Belmond and Lynn Cooke of Runnells, Iowa, Pete Kluss of Spokane, Washington, Mitch (Donna) Kluss of Clarion, Dean (Lisa) Kluss of Clarion, Ron (Diane) Cooke of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dani (Holly) Cooke of Clear Lake, and Tami (Marcus) Willy, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and sister-in-law Donna J. Cooke of Clear Lake; 14 great nieces and nephews and 16 great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve and Bert; sister, Beth Kluss and brothers, Jerry and Ron Cooke.
