Carol Catherine Grove, 62, passed away Monday, April 22, 1991 at the Hancock
County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Carol, the daughter of Henry and Mildred (Lotz) Claussen was born December 5,
1928 at Palmer, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith.
She graduated from the Gilmore City High School.
On January 20, 1951 she was united in marriage with Percy Grove at St. John's
Church in Palmer, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Williams area until 1961 when
they moved to the Britt area.
Carol was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt. She was active in
church and community work and was a member of the 3 G's Homemaker's Club and the
PEO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark who passed away in 1974;
two brothers: Herman and Sherman Claussen.
Survivors include her husband, Percy Grove of Britt, Iowa; four children: Tim
Grove and his wife, Wendy of Britt. Iowa; Catherine Hawk and her husband, Randy
of Glidden, Iowa; Willard Grove and his wife, Philomena of Cedar Rapids, Iowa;
Paula Dummett and her husband, Jim of Spirit Lake, Iowa; eight grandchildren;
two brothers: Vernon Claussen of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Clifford Claussen of Villard,
Minnesota; four sisters: Madora Graaf of Livermore, Iowa; Martha Cage of Olathe,
Kansas; Marian Benjamin of Gilmore City, Iowa; Iola Cran of Grinnell, Iowa; many
nieces, nephews and friends.
